...a momma needs a rocking chair

...and it might as well be gorgeous!

My #1 rocking chair of choice is a beautifully designed rocker by Jens Risom. I found it on DWR a while back and fell in lust.

Do you likey? The only problem is $$$ with this one.

I also love this rocker that I found at Hive

Very cool, but has no head rest, and even more $$$.

Eames rockers have always been a favorite of mine, and while not as pricey as the above-shown, I think I want a head rest.

There are also these rockers/gliders that are no doubt comfy, but maybe bulkier than I like from Restoration Hardware.

Still, pretty nice, and rockers you could fall asleep in, so I'm not ruling them out.

Last of all, Ikea has an option that I like.

Inexpensive and a sleek design. May be a good option. Some people say Ikea's rockers don't really rock very well though. That would be disappointing. And I always like Ikea more in pictures than I usually do in real life. Not a piece that will look good for years to come, but very economical now.

Which would you choose? Or do you have some goodies I haven't seen?

Ooh...I also want to add in this rocker found on Anthropologie

I like it a lot right now, but in 10 years, will I think it's hideous?

Do I seem like a snob for wanting such expensive rocking chairs? Yes, probably. But the only piece of furniture we've bought for our house is a table for the breakfast nook. That's it! And we've been given pretty much everything for the baby.

So, what I'm trying to say is, with all the money we've saved on hand-me-down furniture, we could buy a nice rocker :) Are you convinced?

  1. All I can say is you want the most comfortable chair on the planet. Probably one of those lazy boys that you cannot stand. I don't like them either for their looks but when it comes to needing something practical they are the best! Or something like them. :)

    2. People who truly love style never do need something practical :). I really don't like lazy boys either. I don't mind it in a bedroom or something but then what do you do with it when you don't need it for the baby anymore? I don't want it in my living room. Maybe you can find something great and let me know.

  2. Haha, I love that you just said "oh pook" in the comments! :) I am totally convinced that you need a nice rocker. I am convinced I need one as well. That is #1 on my list of "things I need" for baby #2.
