...what a show off!

Male and female tension is interesting. Michelle told me about the new Earth Day Movie, African Cats. She went to see it with some friends and one friend was pretty angry at the male lions. According to the movie, the female lions do everything, i.e., take care of the cubs and hunt. Once they have killed their prey, the lionesses eat some of the meat and then the lion chases them away to finish off what is left. Lazy and rude! I tend to get ticked off by male actions such as these.

I was telling my father-in-law about these rude males when he reminded me that there are some female insects who, after mating, eat the male insect for dinner. That is also unfair and very rude. So, I shouldn't be angry--there may be equal amounts of rudeness in the male and female kingdoms.

While in Placerville, Dave and I came across this Tom strutting his stuff for the lady turkeys. He was really gorgeous, but they were keeping their distance.

I like the tension between male and female. It keeps life interesting. This Tom has all the looks, but must not be very funny or especially nice because the ladies definitely cared more about the bugs in the grass than they did about his feathers.
